Columbus, OH - 2013 Conference Theme and Strands

IMPROVING TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING FOR ALL STUDENTS: A PLAN OF ACTION

As ITEEA starts its 75th Anniversary celebration of its past, present, and future, there are guiding principles that will shape our field and the content to be taught. We know that the pace of innovation will continue to be rapid and globally interconnected. The population of individuals who are involved with or affected by technology will be increasingly diverse and multidisciplinary. Social, cultural, political, and economic forces will continue to shape and affect the success of innovation. The presence of technology in our every day lives will be seamless, transparent, and more significant that ever. This description of our world comes from the National Academy of Engineering’s publication, The Engineer of 2020.

With the theme and strands of the 2013 Columbus Conference, we challenge the potential conference presenters to describe your “plan of action” as it relates to one of the following strands that will be used to guide the program of the 2013 conference. We invite your application to present as we work together to improve technology and engineering for all students using your best thoughts about a “plan of action” related to the following strands.

  1. Strategic Leadership for a Strong Education
  2. Earlier & Increased Exposure to Technological Literacy
  3. Solutions for Producing Quality Teaching
  4. Improving What is Taught and Learned
  5. Delivering Instruction in a Virtual Age
