Registration Deadline for The 2019 Spellman High Voltage Electronics Clean Tech Competition

March 29, 2019
Registration Deadline for The 2019 Spellman High Voltage Electronics Clean Tech Competition

 “Toward A Greener Tomorrow
Win up to $10,000!
www.cstl.org/cleantech

The Clean Tech Competition is an international research and design challenge for 15-18 year old pre-university students. It is a way for students to test their ideas against both a global issue, as well as competitors with very different experiences than their own. We have found students tend to choose to solve problems that affect their local region the most, and we encourage this! There are so many unique situations, and we want as many addressed as possible. The registration period is soon drawing to a close, so we suggest entering soon, but there is still plenty of time for students to work on their paper before the submission date! Papers will still be due on April 12th, and we want as many amazing ideas as possible to be allowed into the 8th international Clean Tech Competition, so sign up today! This will be your last shot to enter into one of our TWO categories with a $10,000 grand prize!

Each year, the Spellman High Voltage Electronics Clean Tech Competition encourages scientific understanding of real-world issues and the integration of environmentally responsible energy sources.

  • The 2019 Challenge: “Toward A Greener Tomorrow” asks students to develop a clean technology solution to make our future more sustainable than our past
  • Teams chose between two categories: Mitigating the Effects of Climate Change and Resource Preservation
  • Teams consist of 1-3 students, are assisted by a Team Leader (i.e. parent, teacher, or mentor), to develop a written proposal.
  • No limit to the number of teams per school!
  • There is no entry fee.
  • Online registration is open at: https://www.cstl.org/cleantech/registration/
  • First Round Paper Submissions are due April 12th, 2019.
  • 10 Finalist Teams will be selected, given a $200 (USD) stipend, and matched with a Mentor to help them prepare a prototype and presentation for the Finalist Event.
  • Finalists compete for the $10,000 (USD) first place prize in each category and a ‘Continued Mentorship’
  • Final event to happen on July 18th, 2019!

If you have any questions regarding the competition details, or how to incorporate the competition into your curriculum, please contact us. We look forward to having participants coming from International Technology and Engineering Educators Association in the Clean Tech Competition this year, and in years to come!
