ITEEA's specially designed professional development webinar series focuses on Technology and Engineering Education best practices for leading Integrative STEM Education (I-STEM Education) in your school.

Use and investigate a variety of elementary grade level integrative STEM Education challenges and activities to introduce and teach about technological/engineering practices and processes. Learn how to connect to their world and further their understanding of the knowledge being learning with regard to technology and engineering.
April Peacock has served as an educator in both 4th and 5th grade for the past seven years. Prior to that she served eight years as a Remediation Aide and Volunteer in her community elementary school. Peacock believes that Project-Based Learning and Integrative STEM Education across the curriculum are significant elements in keeping students highly engaged and inquisitive about learning.
Peacock has presented at the Virginia Children’s Engineering Council’s Conference for the last two years. She also presented at the Southeastern Technology Education Conference (STEC) last year. She has spent time supporting and coaching fellow peers with STEM challenge ideas and ways to incorporate multiple standards from across the curriculum.
She graduated from Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with a Bachelor of Arts and later attended Old Dominion University to become certified to teach in P-6 grades. She obtained a Gifted Endorsement from Radford University in May 2018. In May 2019, Peacock will complete her Masters’ Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as a graduate certificate in Integrative STEM Education, from Virginia Tech. She will also complete the NASA Endeavor STEM Teaching Certificate as a distinguished educator through Teachers College at Columbia University in April 2019.
