The International Conference on Technology Education (ICTE) in the Asia Pacific Region is a biennial event bringing together Technology Education professionals to exchange ideas and research outcomes. Known by other subject descriptors such as Design & Technology and Industrial Education, participation is open to all persons interested in Technology Education. The first conference was held in Otsu, Japan in 1995. Successive conferences were held in Taipei, Taiwan in 1997, Canberra, Australia in 1999, Daejeon, Korea in 2001, Auckland, New Zealand in 2003, Hong Kong, China in 2006, San Antonio, USA in 2007, Taipei, Taiwan in 2009, Aichi, Japan in 2011, Nanjing, China in 2013, Hongkong in 2015 and Christchurch, New Zealand in 2017. 

The 13th ICTE will be held January 16-18, 2019 at the Korea National University of Education. It is co-organized by the Korean Technology Education Association and the Department of Technology Education of Korea National University of Education. Given the impact technology has on all aspects of human development, relationships, and organizational structures, the theme for the conference is "Technology Education: A way to make global education innovative and sustainable". ICTE 2019 will allow researchers and teachers from institutes in the Asian Pacific region and all around the world to exchange ideas, address critical issues and discuss future developments in the area of technology education.
