Hi folks, my name is Mohamad Barbarji and I am originally from Lebanon, and I have lived in Saudi Arabia for many years. I came to United States in 1985. I studied English for six months and I finished my bachelor in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University. I also attended Virginia Tech and I earned my master’s in Technology Education. I have been working at West Point High School for 26 years as a CTE department chair and as a technology teacher. I teach the following classes: Engineering Exploration, Engineering Analysis and Applications, Electronics I and II, Robotics, Programming in C++ I & II, and A+ Computer Repair and Upgrade. All my classes are DE , Dual Enrollment, with the local community college. My students can earn 23 credits if they are able to take all my classes. I also worked with the Virginia Technology and Engineering Education Association as the representative for the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association. I coach and play soccer and I have coached volleyball for seven years. I have been married for 26 years and I have three boys: Hamed (23), Tre (21), and Zach (18). They keep me very busy with their busy schedule. I also teach an online class for the Virginia Aerospace Scholars and I had 23 students in my class. ALL the assignments related to Mars travel and building a base on Mars. I am also an adjunct professor for Rappahannock Community College (online and hybrid courses). Last summer was a very busy but exciting summer. I taught for the first time a class on Aerospace Technology, I also traveled to Cuba to train 80 middle and high school Cuban teachers on how to use technology in their own classes. I finally finished my summer with a trip to Kuwait and I spent a week working and training their teacher on the "Engineering by Design" curriculum. Great summer. In June of 2019, I will be travelling to Germany for two weeks of professional development through the Transatlantic Outreach Program. I am very much looking forward to that trip.
