Dr. Mark V. Crenshaw (DTE) currently serves as the STEM Institute Program Director for Newton County School System in Covington, GA. Previously he served as an Engineering and Technology Education Instructor at Monroe Area High School in Monroe, GA. Dr. Crenshaw has also served as an Assistant Director of Lake Technical College in Eustis, FL where he oversaw the final construction of the new Center for Advanced Manufacturing and its associated programs along with other duties regarding the operations of multiple campuses. Before that he served as the CEO of the Hart College and Career Academy and the Career, Technical and Agriculture Education (CTAE) Director of Hart County Charter System in Hartwell, GA. Dr. Crenshaw has served as the CTAE Program Specialist at the Georgia Department of Education providing statewide leadership and coordination for educational program delivery of the STEM, Manufacturing, and Energy Career Clusters. Mark also served as ITEEA's STEM Center for Teaching and Learning; Engineering by Design (EbD) State Director and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) State Leader for Georgia. Dr. Crenshaw earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and later received a Master of Education degree from Old Dominion University in Technology Education. Continuing further studies, he earned an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University and completed his studies with a Doctor of Education degree in Career and Technology Education from Clemson University. Having served 10 years in the U.S. Navy he separated honorably to pursue a teaching career that began in Georgia, having taught both middle and high school. His program was recognized as an ITEEA Program of Excellence and he has also received the ITEEA Teacher of Excellence award. Most recently Dr. Crenshaw served ITEEA as the Council for Supervision and Leadership (CSL) Board of Directors representative (2017-2019) and is currently the Affiliate Representative for Georgia. Dr. Crenshaw also served on the national Technology Student Association (TSA) Board of Directors. Dr. Crenshaw earned the ITEEA/CSL Technology and Engineering Outstanding Supervisor award in 2016 and the Outstanding State Supervisor award in 2014. His passions are focused on Technology and Engineering teacher retention and undergraduate Technology and Engineering educator preparation programs.
