Save the date for the third annual AOPA High School Aviation STEM Symposium, November 6 and 7, 2017!

Save the date for AOPA's third annual High School Aviation STEM Symposium, to be held Nov. 6 and 7 at the American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum in Fort Worth, Texas.

This unique event brings together dedicated educators from around the nation to share insights, ideas, and best practices for incorporating aviation education into STEM programs and implementing successful collaboration among educators.

You asked us to give you more, so this year we're expanding the symposium to two full days to include:

  • Expert speakers from the aviation, STEM, and career and technical education communities
  • More breakout sessions on topics such as unmanned aircraft systems, aerospace engineering, and pilot education
  • More time for you to network with fellow participants, who will include educators, administrators, university faculty, industry leaders, and aviation program leaders
  • A chance to explore the museum, which features a rare Douglas DC-3 airliner

The 2016 symposium hosted hundreds of attendees from 33 states, and we expect it to grow for 2017. Participants tell us the sense of community and commitment to shared goals is one of the best features of the event. Check out last year's highlights here.

We hope you'll join us and become part of this dynamic group dedicated to bringing aviation topics into the classroom and preparing students for great careers in this high-demand industry.

In the meantime, check the website to get the latest information on the symposium agenda, speakers, and more.
