ITEEA STEM CTL™ Institutes Held in Baltimore, MD

ITEEA’s STEM CTL™ held two Teacher Effectiveness Coach Workshop Institutes in Baltimore, Maryland From May 5 through 7.

Authorized TEC Institute (ATI): Each year the Center holds an Authorized TEC (Teacher Effectiveness Coach) Institute to help provide states with Authorized/Certified EbD™ trainers. Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, and North Carolina sent teachers and PD specialists to receive certification in an EbD™ course. Participants engage in activities needed for them to deliver a high quality and consistent technology and engineering course specific professional development experience in their home state. Several attendees were part of the NSF-funded GET ET (Engineering Technology) project through the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). These participants will use this workshop institute and go back to their states to develop dual credit articulation agreements with high schools in their states through a local community college/institute of higher education.

Maryland TEC Recertification Institute: Representatives from Maryland attended the Institute to update their EbD™ knowledge and skills related to the courses that they are certified to deliver in-state. Participants were trained on the EbD-BUZZ™ system as well as being paired with an experienced EbD TEC to learn the latest updates.
