TierPoint Data Security Center: A behind the scenes tour of this ultra high-tech information technology data center. Attendees will be provided with a walk through of this high-tech data facility, along with the Security Operations Center (think of a mini-NASA station monitoring a shuttle ). Field Trip highlights will include:

• Redundant features of the security and network infrastructure, as well as the power and connectivity redundancy.
• An in-depth look at disaster recovery capabilities of the data center.
• How TierPoint maintains an incredible standard of security and compliance, with annual audits around SSAE-18 Type 2 SOC 2, PCI-DSS, GLBA and HIPAA.
• Why TierPoint is also ITAR and EU-US Privacy Shield registered.

Union Station, Science City, and Planetarium

Walking Tour of Union Station – See Union Station through the eyes of those who witnessed and shaped its history. Go back in time to the Station’s glorious opening in 1914 and experience memorable events that have shaped this iconic building. Learn about the infamous gangster massacre, relive tearful farewells and reunions of both world wars and much more! Union Station Kansas City is a historical landmark and civic asset renovated and reopened to the public in 1999. It features a science center, world-class touring exhibitions, an extreme screen theatre, planetarium, live theatre, shops and restaurants. Union Station is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

Explore Science City – After an introduction, participants can do a self-guided tour of Science City. Science City is a place of wonder where visitors can find something new with each visit. Let curiosity be your guide through nearly 325 permanent interactive and static exhibits. Throw the don’t touch mindset out the window. There are no tests and no wrong or right answers, just a chance to explore with freedom and pure imagination. Its magic starts with its location — architectural and historic marvel, Union Station provides a venue unlike any other science center in the nation. Experience and learn science concepts and how they are found all around you every day.

Planetarium (3pm show) – Immerse yourself in our out-of-this world space experience. Union Station’s Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium is one of the largest in the Midwest. You’ll be surrounded by this 360-degree experience offering several different films. You’re sure to be amazed!
