The Technology Student Association (TSA) is launching two new competitions in one of the fastest growing career fields—Information Technology (IT).

  1. Cybersecurity is a rapidly expanding field in IT that deals with protecting computer systems including the hardware, software, data storage, and network. Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions have become highly useful in educating students on important concepts in the attack and defense of computer systems. TSA's Cybersecurity competition is a CTF competition offered to 2018–2019 TSA affiliated high school chapters. To prepare for the 2019 National TSA Conference, TSA chapters may register teams to compete virtually against other TSA chapters using CTFd, an open source CTF framework. Chapters will be able to track their progress/scores via an on-line scoreboard.

  1. TSA's CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ Certification competition is offered to a number of currently affiliated high school TSA members who will be attending the 2019 National TSA Conference. CompTIA’s ITF+ is an introduction to basic IT knowledge and skills that form the basis for a foundational understanding of IT careers. TSA partner CompTIA is offering the ITF+ certification exam at no cost to a number of students. Up to three students per chapter will be able to register to take the ITF+ certification test free of charge at the 2019 National TSA Conference.
