2020 Conference Theme:
Technological and Engineering Literacy for ALL
ITEEA’s 2020 conference theme focuses on the importance of providing access and equity for all PreK-12 students to become technologically and engineering literate through high-quality STEM instruction. Students who study technology and engineering through an integrative STEM education approach learn about the technological world that inventors, engineers, and other innovators have created. The goal is to produce students with a more conceptual understanding of technology and engineering and its place in society. These students must conceptualize and evaluate new technologies that they may have never before seen. By “doing and making,” children become “makers” for the future.
Strand 1 - Innovative strategies to support Technological and Engineering Literacy for All
Strand 2 - Providing or making connections to bridge the divide between Integrative STEM Education and STEM career opportunities
Strand 3 - Connecting people, facilities, and resources to find solutions to the challenges facing our profession
Strand 4 - Attracting underrepresented populations to I-STEM Education
We've Made it Easy!
Check Out ITEEA's Resources for Conference Presenters
First-time presenters, and even some veterans, can benefit from ITEEA’s new presenter resource webpage. Due to regularly increasing interest in presenting as part of ITEEA conferences, the association has created and launched a new webpage to make the presentation process as transparent and easy-to-navigate as possible. The updated presenter information page includes a complete timeline for presenters as well as a presenter information document and direct link to apply for both a regular interest session and the STEM Showcase. Additionally, the page includes a link to archived conference presentations and the ability to review meeting room information and a chart for easy access to presenters’ assigned rooms and times.
Over 98% of 2019 presenters reported a “very positive or positive” experience at ITEEA’s Kansas City conference and over 90% said that it was likely they would return. Being a presenter is just one way that the conference promotes sharing best practices and demonstrates how technology and engineering brings STEM to Life!
