ITEEA Members' Girls In Engineering Team Wins MATE MARINER Award

At the 2019 International MATE ROV Competition held in Kingsport, TN June 20 - 23, Granby's Girls In Engineering team won the Martin Klein MATE MARINER Award. The team is coached by ITEEA members Deborah Marshall and Roger Lagesse, teachers at Granby High School. The award is presented at each International Competition to the individual or team that demonstrates an appreciation for the practical applications of their knowledge and skills; a genuine interest in the competition mission; a penchant for a lifetime interest in the field of marine science and technology; and exceptional passion – not just for winning but for the entire competition process.

News - June19 - MATE2The MATE competition included 70 teams from 18 countries and challenges K-12, community college, and university students from all over the world to design and build ROVs to tackle missions modeled after scenarios from the ocean workplace.
