TEAMS (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Sciences) Registration is Open!
You may register now for the TEAMS Competition. The 2020 competition theme—“Engineering in the Wild”—features three components related to the theme: designing and building a solution to a problem; rigorous math problems; and an essay. Student teams compete at the state level between February 5th and March 8th at middle or high school sites, or host universities. Top ranked teams are invited to compete for “Best in Nation” honors at the National Technology Student Association (TSA) Conference scheduled in June 2020 in Nashville, TN.
TEAMS is an annual STEM competition challenging students to work collaboratively and apply their math and science knowledge in practical, creative ways to solve real everyday engineering challenges. After participating in TEAMS, students increase their knowledge of engineering, feel more confident about participating in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) activities, and increase their ability to work with others to solve complex problems. The TEAMS competition helps develop "STEM-capable" students in an engaging way by showing them how math and science, with an engineering focus, are used to make tangible differences in the world.
Focused on a theme each year, original academic and innovative concepts are developed for the competition based on the National Academy of Engineering's Grand Challenges. Tackling these challenges requires critical job-readiness skills such as collaboration, analytical thinking, and multidimensional problem solving.
ITEEA member schools can use the discount code ITEEA2020 to receive a 30% discount off the national TEAMS registration fee of $150 per team. For more information or to register now, visit the TEAMS website or contact TEAMS Manager Jenn Glover.
