Position title: Assistant/Associate Professor – Manufacturing Engineering Technology

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Description: The Department of Environmental & Technological Studies at St. Cloud State University invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track position in the area of Manufacturing Engineering Technology. The successful candidate should be committed to instructional excellence and to developing partnerships with educational institutions and industry. Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this faculty position include teaching undergraduate courses (including the direction of capstone projects), curriculum development, and assessment in support of the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. The successful candidate will be effective in the recruitment and retention of students and the development of partnerships with industry and other educational institutions.In order to be considered for tenure, the candidate will demonstrate the ability to: teach effectively, produce a record of scholarly or creative achievement or research, participate in continuing preparation and study, contribute to student growth and development, and provide service to the department, university, and/or community. The ideal candidate will share St. Cloud State's commitment to our mission and values, especially our commitment to the holistic education of our racially and socio-economically diverse student population. Applicants will be expected to establish and maintain a professional goal to become outstanding teachers through the use of research-based, best-practices pedagogy. They should be willing to participate in teaching using alternative delivery methods such as online and hybrid. Qualifications and experience:


  • Doctorate in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or closely related field
  • Ability to develop and deliver lab based manufacturing curriculum
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds


  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
  • Expertise in CAD/CAM and automation
  • Ability to teach undergraduate manufacturing engineering technology courses such as CIM (computer integrated manufacturing), tool design, facility design, polymer processes, as well as basic engineering technology courses such as statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials, etc.
  • Experience directing student teams with industry projects
  • Industry experience
