During this session, we will discuss Strategic Plan Goal 2: Engagement, which highlights ITEEA’s efforts to enhance engagement through a diversity of available opportunities. Join us as we explore (1) growing participation in ITEEA programs, (2) fostering active volunteerism, and (3) crafting valued resources and events.

George Bishop is ITEEA’s Region 1 Director, President of the Virginia Association for Career and Technical Education, and a Technology Education Teacher at Battlefield High School in Virginia.
 
Virginia R. Jones, Ph.D., DTE, is President-Elect, Elementary STEM Council and Immediate Past President, ITEEA. She also serves as co-Field Editor of The Elementary STEM Journal and is an adjunct professor in the Professional Studies Department at Old Dominion University.

ITEEA Strategic Plan Goal 3: Partnerships and Collaboration
The third session in this series will explore Goal 3: Partnerships and Collaboration, outlining our plans for growing mutually beneficial relationships with other organizations. We’ll invite feedback on (1) enhancing collaboration with State Affiliate Associations and Champs, (2) connecting with related professional associations, and (3) seeking funding for ITEEA initiatives.

Don Whitman is a Technology Engineering Education Department Leader at Normal Community High School in Illinois and is ITEEA’s Region 2 Director.

ITEEA Strategic Plan Goal 4: Curriculum and Professional Development
The second-to-last session will focus on Strategic Plan Goal 4: Curriculum and Professional Development, exploring efforts related to the development and use of ITEEA’s Integrative STEM curriculum. Specifically, we’ll discuss how ITEEA is (1) increasing awareness and usage, (2) training coaches and teachers, (3) sharing best practices for effective implementation.

Scott R. Bartholomew, Ph.D., is a Technology and Engineering Teacher educator at Brigham Young University and represents ITEEA’s Technology and Engineering Education Collegiate Association (TEECA) on the Board of Directors. 
 
Troy Blunier, DTE, is an Instructional Assistant Professor at Illinois State University as well as ITEEA’s Board Representative for the Council for STEM Leadership (CSL).

ITEEA Strategic Plan Goal 5: Standards
Finally, in the last session of the 2022-2023 school year on Goal 5: Standards, we invite your thoughts on how ITEEA can establish and support the use of educational standards among the T&E community. Our facilitators will share ideas around (1) creating resources to aid in standards’ implementation, (2) monitoring the effectiveness of standards, and (3) understanding the barriers to standards’ usage.

Charlie McLaughlin, Ph.D., DTE, is a Professor of Technology Education at Rhode Island College. Charlie will be installed as 2023-2024 ITEEA President in April 2023.
 
Steve Shumway, Ph.D., represents ITEEA’s Council on Technology and Engineering Teacher Education on ITEEA’s Board and is a Professor in the Technology & Engineering Studies program in the College of Engineering at Brigham Young University.
