ITEEA Announces 2021-2022 STEM Schools of Excellence

RESTON, VA, February 10, 2023 - ITEEA today announced the recipients of its STEM School of Excellence Recognition. ITEEA recognizes outstanding schools for their commitment to providing a robust Integrative STEM education program.

 

The following schools will officially be awarded as part of ITEEA’s 85th Annual Conference to be held April 12-15, 2023 in Minneapolis, MN. 

  • American School of Asuncion, Asuncion, Paraguay
  • Benton Hall Academy, Little Falls, NY
  • Charles H. Barrows STEM Academy, Windham, CT
  • Christian Brothers College High School, Saint Louis, MO
  • E.K. Key CITGO Innovation Academy, Sulphur, LA
  • Grapevine Middle School, Grapevine, TX
  • Hillsboro Charter Academy, Hillsboro, VA
  • Independence Elementary School, Big Lake, MN
  • Innovation Academy, Oro Valley, AZ
  • John Thomas School of Discovery, Nixa, MO
  • Kalani High School, Honolulu, HI
  • Mahwah High School, Mahwah, NJ
  • MOT Charter High School, Middletown, DE
  • Newton College and Career Academy, Covington, GA
  • Oasis Middle School, Cape Coral, FL
  • Oasis Elementary North, Cape Coral, FL
  • Palmer Trinity School, Miami, FL
  • Southside STEM Academy at Campostella K-8 School

Additionally, a new award category has been added to recognize the outstanding work in STEM from colleges and universities and awards will go to the following institutions.

  • Millersville University of Pennsylvania, Millersville, PA
  • North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC
  • Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS
  • SUNY-Oswego, Oswego, NY
  • Utah State University, Logan, UT

As ITEEA School of Excellence winners, awardees will be honored at the Opening General Session at ITEEA's 2023 Conference in Minneapolis and receive a certificate and a banner to display in their school.

 

ITEEA President, Debra Shapiro, DTE shared, "I would like to congratulate each of our STEM School of Excellence Recipients for the 2021-2022 School Year. It is exciting to see so many schools being honored for their outstanding work in Integrative STEM! The addition of our College and University category gives us the opportunity to highlight the great work happening in post-secondary education in STEM! Congratulations to everyone!
