ITEEA Announces Launch of Completely “Reengineered” Website

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 05, 2016

Reston, VA, United States, January 05, 2016 —

ITEEA today announced the launch of a new, completely redesigned website, www.iteea.org. Key features of the site include a cleaner and more attractive design, and more engaging user experience with enhanced search and navigation.

“This new website represents a significant step in ITEEA’s commitment to leading the Integrative STEM Education field, making it easier for members and the public to access and share information,” shared ITEEA President, Joey Rider-Bertrand.

Below is a list of just some of the improved functionality.

  • The homepage has been redesigned to be brighter, more engaging, and simpler to navigate. A mix of high priority and popular items appear at the top of the page. Scrolling down, the latest news from ITEEA and its members, upcoming events, and featured educators and schools. ITEEA members will also have easy access to the latest editions of ITEEA journals and valuable resource collections.
  • At the bottom of the homepage are quick links to the latest IdeaGarden discussions and ITEEA directories; these longstanding ITEEA members-only website features have been refreshed and improved. Members will also discover that these are not the only places where they may interact; the entire website has been transformed into a community, providing opportunities to engage within resources, publications, conferences, etc.
  • Mobile users will be pleased to discover the site is now optimized for use on their smartphones and tablets.
  • After logging in, visitors will notice that the header welcomes them by name and that they now have the ability to manage their profiles. Pages throughout the site now include additional details, options, and full features that are only visible to members. Rather than a separate “members only” section, every page on the website now supports members-only features and content, simplifying the user experience.
  • Members can click the “Resources” tab to add a resource as their experience on the ITEEA website is being personalized to make it easy to share resources and keep track of things they find useful.
  • The website now offers a “STEM By STATE” feature, where users can click a state and see events and contacts for that state.
  • The Activities functionality allows members to see a real-time listing of upcoming events that support their needs prior to, during, and after each event.
  • The new Resources area contains reorganized and updated collections.
  • The Publications section allows members to explore journals in both pdf and html formats, view standards, and look for Integrative STEM Education Products.

“In developing this site, we were mindful of our three most important constituencies—our members, the broader Integrative STEM Education field, and public audiences who may not yet be savvy about technological literacy,” said Steve Barbato, ITEEA Executive Director. “While the website obviously serves a very public function, it is also helping us meet internal needs by providing better information to our growing network of members and institutions around the world. This is a major step forward for ITEEA, its members, advocates of Integrative STEM Education, and those members of the general public who want to learn more.”
