ITEEA Accepting “Veterans Make Great STEM Teachers” Scholarship Applications through August 1

February 16, 2016

ITEEA recently announced a new scholarship opportunity for VETERANS who are currently enrolled as university students transitioning to careers as Technology and Engineering teachers. The intent of this scholarship is to recognize those who have served our country and are now committed to serving/teaching its students. Additional funding for this program is open to all interested parties including corporations, colleges and universities, as well as individuals. ITEEA is pleased to recognize CNC Software, creators of Mastercam, as the inaugural scholarship sponsor with a $4,000 contribution. Funding for this program is critical to both support veterans as they transition to a second career, as well as to address current teacher shortages. Interested sponsors should contact mwiley@iteea.org.

Interested applicants can access the application beginning March 15, 2016. Eligibility requirements can be found on the ITEEA website. The application deadline is August 1, 2016. Awardees will be notified by September 19, 2016 and receive a complimentary registration to ITEEA’s 2017 Annual Conference in Dallas, Texas where they will be officially recognized for their honorable commitment to serve.
