Teaching STEM in a Pandemic: Hybrid and Virtual Learning: Elementary STEM Goes Socially Distanced

Join us as we share all the challenges and successes of our own experiences transitioning a K-5 STEM program to a hybrid learning environment.


Kyle Kermick is the Grades 4-5 Design and Technology teacher at Lafayette School in Chatham, NJ. Over the last seven years he has worked with schools and departmental colleagues to integrate, cross-connect, and grow a Grade 4-5 STEM curriculum. Kyle received his Bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey, where he is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree.

 

 

Samantha Stojanov is an early elementary teacher of Design and Technology for the School District of the Chathams in Morris County, NJ. She worked at Southern Boulevard School for seven years and collaborated with colleagues to develop and implement a comprehensive STEM early education program. Samantha earned her Bachelor’s degree in Integrative STEM Education from The College of New Jersey where she later earned her Masters of Education.

 

Allie Tierney Moll is the K-3 Design & Technology teacher at Washington Avenue School in Chatham, NJ. Over the last seven years she has worked collaboratively with her departmental colleagues to develop and implement a K-3 STEM curriculum. Allie received her Bachelor’s degree in STEM and Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey, where she later earned her Master’s Degree.

 

 

Amanda Turton is an early elementary teacher of Design and Technology for the School District of the Chathams in Morris County, NJ. She has worked at Milton Avenue School for six years and has collaborated with colleagues to develop and implement a comprehensive STEM early education program. Previously, she taught elementary science in Oakland, CA. She has a Bachelor’s degree in STEM Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey and a Master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Seton Hall University.
