What is the Teacher Excellence Award?

Sponsored by ITEEA and Goodheart-Willcox, the Teacher Excellence Award is one of the highest honors given to technology and engineering education classroom teachers and is presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to the profession and their students. The Teacher Excellence Award provides public recognition at the local/state/province through international levels.

The Teacher Excellence Awards program was established to identify outstanding technology and engineering teachers who will serve as models for their colleagues and who could form a leadership core to affect change in the field. Teacher Excellence Awards are available for elementary, middle, and high school teachers. Every state/province is eligible to participate with selected recipients at each level.

Why Apply?

In addition to recognizing outstanding teaching in Technology and Engineering, the program provides teachers with an opportunity to build a lasting network with colleagues across the nation. This growing and vital network of award-winning teachers serves as an unparalleled vital resource for improving public understanding of technology and engineering through integrative STEM education and its contributions to the world in which we live.

Who is Eligible?

  • The teacher must have a minimum of three years of teaching experience.
