Arielle Santercangelo is a dedicated Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher at Woodland Middle School, specializing in engineering, robotics, and business classes. With three years of middle school teaching experience and a background in high school Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses, she combines a wealth of knowledge and passion for education. Prior to teaching, Arielle gained valuable experience in engineering and construction management, which informs her innovative approach.
She holds an Associate's degree in Construction Management from Howard Community College and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Technology Education from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Her expertise includes mechanical and structural engineering, graphic design, and sustainable design education, equipping her to inspire future thinkers and creators.
Arielle has received several accolades, including the 2023-2024 Sarasota County Schools CTE Teacher of the Year and the ITEEA STEM School of Excellence Award. She is an active member of professional organizations like ITEEA, FACTE, and ACTE, and advises over 40 students each year in the Technology Student Association (TSA).
Committed to engaging students in projects that highlight technology and sustainability, Arielle is currently consulting as an industrial engineer on an art installation emphasizing data visualization, pattern recognition, and eco-brutalism themes. One of her proudest achievements is guiding her students to create an eco-friendly biodegradable plastic from the prickly pear cactus, which received national recognition in 2024.
Driven by a passion for education and innovation, Arielle inspires her students to explore their creativity and realize their potential to make a positive impact in the world.
