Professional Bio
I have been an educator for 14 years, dedicated to preparing students for success through hands-on Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in engineering, robotics, and emerging technologies. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Secondary Education in Social Science from Spring Hill College. I am certified to teach CTE and hold ten Project Lead The Way (PLTW) certifications in engineering. I also serve as the 2025–2026 Head Referee for VEX V5 Robotics and Event Coordinator for REC Foundation Drone competitions.
Throughout my career, I have been honored as Most Outstanding PLTW Engineering Teacher of the Year (2020–2021 and 2024–2025), Most Outstanding PLTW Gateway Teacher of the Year (2018–2019), and Most Outstanding TSA Advisor (2014–2015 and 2023–2024). I have also led multiple award-winning TSA chapters and served on the TSA Advisory Council.
My program integrates PLTW engineering courses with TSA competitions, VEX Robotics, and drone technology to provide authentic, project-based learning experiences. Students explore engineering design through CAD, programming, architecture, robotics, prototyping, and other STEM projects while developing collaboration, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
The greatest reward of teaching is watching students grow into confident leaders and maintaining relationships with them long after graduation. Inspired by mentors who shaped my own life, I strive to provide students with the knowledge, confidence, and real-world experiences they need to succeed in college, careers, and beyond.
